"How To Kill Your Houseplants"
Follow Up Series
Quick Set-Up
Again, assume that you are a participant who has completed this fascinating class, who may have a plant at the office or at home that needs to be eliminated, but in the rush to catch up with other things, you've kind of forgotten why you took the course.
As you move through the messages, take a pause before each one, and remind yourself that they would come (generally) a week apart. This is important because you will achieve much better results if you have time to apply the techniques between messages.
One Week After the Course
Tips for Use:
This is the first message in your follow up series after a participant has complete a course. Use this message to introduce the series, to remind people why they took the course, to bring them back to the "big picture," and to reinforce the benefits of applying what they learned.
For best results, keep this first one short and simple. Just remind them of what they learned and encourage them to apply their new knowledge and skills.
Message #1
Thank you for attending our course in "How to Kill Your Houseplants". This course gave you the tools to rid yourself of houseplants you dislike without getting in trouble with family members or office colleagues.
We covered a lot of information in those four hours, and you know, as well as we do, that the sooner you use the tips we gave you, the better you'll remember them. We will keep in touch over the next few weeks to give you a little nudge now and then. If you apply just a few of the tips from the course, over the next couple of weeks, you will be a skillful (and stealthy) plant killer before you know it.
The first thing to do is choose a victim! Of course, some people who take our course just want to get rid of all their houseplants. Certainly, if you live or work alone, you can just throw them out. But our course is designed for people who hate their potted plants in general -- or who hate a particular houseplant -- but who live with others, or share the houseplants in an office environment. The trick is to destroy the offending vegetative matter without getting caught.
Choose a plant to practice on. Obviously you need easy access to the plant, but you don't have to sneak around. Here's an important reminder: one of the best ways to get rid of a plant you hate is to volunteer to take care of it!
We'll check in with you again next week with more ideas for getting the most out of "How to Kill Your Houseplants".
